Summer Camp and Zip Lines

Well, we survived another year of Summer Camp. Isaiah directs a camp every summer and this was the second year that the kids and I went along. Of course, we didn't see much of Isaiah but managed to find our own fun. They had a zip line there and Lily really wanted to try it. I asked Micah if he wanted to try to and he said, "No way!" Those two are so different. I kind of thought Lily would chicken out at the last minute, but she did great and loved it! She even wanted to go again, but they were closing up. Afterwards, I told her she was such a brave girl and she told me, "Yeah, I'm brave and fearless." You go girl!

Happy Birthday to Lily!

Last Saturday afternoon, we celebrated Lily's 5th birthday! Her actual birthday is tomorrow, but I still can't believe she will be 5. In fact, I started lighting the candles on her cupcake and realized I had only put 4 candles on it! She wanted a Littlest Pet Shop party, which was lots of fun.

I made Lily this Littlest Pet Shop outfit to wear for her party, and she loved it. She looked pretty darn cute, too!

Hard at work making pom-pom pets! I also made little animal headbands for each of the kids, so they got to pick which animal they wanted to be when they first got here. They all looked so cute!

We also played "Pass the Hamster Ball", otherwise known as "Splash Ball". The "Hamster Ball" was a little plastic ball with a water balloon inside and a timer. You pass it around until the timer goes off and the balloon pops and splashes whoever is holding it. Poor Memphis, I think he got "splashed" both times. What a good sport!

Pinata Time! Swing, Lily, swing!

Lucy is always ready for candy!

This is what was left of the pinata after Micah finished it off and Isaiah put it on his head. Leave it to the boys!

Here are the yummy cupcakes (Notice there are only 4 candles on the top cupcake. I added the 5th after I took the picture and realized that there should be 5 candles).

Of course, I was running around like crazy the whole time and it took a lot of planning, but Lily loved it, I think everyone had fun, and I heard a couple of the kids say "This is the best party ever!", which makes it all worth it :) We love you, Lily!

Lunch With the Principal

Micah did such a great job in his Accelerated Reading program at school this year. He earned lunch with his principal, Mr. Campbell by reading 100 books on the First Grade Honors List and taking a test on them. There were only 4 other First Graders who met this goal. They got to eat lunch with Mr. Campbell and even sit at his desk! They also had an award ceremony at school to congratulate all the top Honors readers, where he got a certificate and a medal. Way to go, Micah! We are so proud of you!

Happy Birthday to Lucy!

Today was Lucy's 2nd birthday. She is getting to be such a big girl and I always feel like the 2nd birthday marks the end of babyhood(sigh):( We are planning a party later this week, so just had a little celebration. After nap time, she got to open her presents and I made a little cake (chocolate, of course). She got a new outfit with a cute little monkey on it, or "ooh ooh aah ahh" as she calls it, a Tag Junior and some books, and a big Curious George book (her favorite). Isaiah even came home for a little while and brought her a giant lollipop. I think that thing is bigger than her! Of course, he left for Youth Group right afterwards. Thanks a lot, Daddy! Also, some cards came in the mail from Papa & Nana Arii, Great Grandma Arii, and Grandma & Grandpa Andre. Micah made her a very nice birthday card, too. Oh, and Lily gave her one of her My Little Pony stuffed animals. She has such a good big brother and sister. Happy Birthday, Lucy!

Tucannon Camping Trip

I am finally getting around to posting pictures from our annual Memorial Day weekend camping trip to Tucannon. It was a little cold and wet, but the kids had fun playing in the dirt and fishing, Isaiah got to fish and eat a lot, and I survived(everyone knows how much I love camping). Over all, it was a good weekend spent with family and good friends.
