Pumpkin Patch

As a Kindergartener this year, Lily got to go to the Country Mercantile pumpkin patch. As I am typing this, I am realizing that this was her last pumpkin patch field trip, as 1st graders and up don't get a field trip to the pumpkin patch. So sad...anyway, Lucy and I got to tag along. The weather was not the greatest. It was a little cold for my taste (and Lucy's too, she was not a fan of the cold). It rained the whole way there, then stopped while we were there, then started to rain again as we were walking to the car to leave. Talk about perfect timing. Otherwise, it was a lot of fun. We got to go on a hayride out to the pumpkin patch, go through a hay maze (where poor Lucy got plowed over by some of the boys), climb a giant hay stack, and pet some animals. They even had a real reindeer.

Lily with the "perfect pumpkin". She had to walk all the way to the end of the field just to search for this pumpkin. When the other kids were getting back on the hay trailer, she was still wandering back. That's Lily for you...gotta love that girl!


And Lucy found one just her size, too!


The reindeer was actually kind of grumpy. When the kids tried to pet him, he kind of butted his head at them. I guess I can't really blame him.

Soccer Star

Micah has been doing awesome at soccer this year. His coach even told us he should try out for the All-Stars team next year. When she asked Micah if he got his sports ability from his mom or his dad, he said, "Definitely from my mom!" Love it! I have been trying to get a good shot of him scoring and finally figured out how to upload a video on here. Woohoo! Here he is at his game today, scoring a goal. Great job, Micah!

Home at Last!

This is a picture of Micah getting off the bus. The bus drops him off in front of our house and he always comes running off it with a smile on his face. He has done this every day since Kindergarten. He says that he is racing the bus, but I think that he is just happy to be home. I'm sure one day, he will be to cool to come running off the bus, but I hope our home will always be a place that he is happy to come back to (sob, sob).

Catch of the Day!

There was no school on Friday, so the boys went out fishing and brought home a big Steelhead. Lily was pretty intrigued to watch her daddy clean it (Micah said it was gross and went to his room) She even wanted to hold the tail. Pretty gross if you ask me. All Isaiah had to say was, "That's my girl"!

Jog-a-thon

Micah and Lily had Jog-a-thon at school last Thursday. Jog-a-thon is a fundraiser for their school where they get pledges to see how many laps they can run. They both did a great job. Micah ran 21 laps and Lily ran 12 laps. I got to help out during both of their sessions, but of course forgot my camera so I had to take a picture when they both got home. Here they are in their cool Jog-a-thon T-shirts.

One Month Down

Lily brought home an award from school the other day for earning a sticker every day in September. They have a sticker calendar for every month and if they have a good day, they receive a sticker for that day. If they have a "bad day", they lose their sticker. Lily came close to losing hers acouple of times for talking when the teacher was talking. After that, she tried really hard to earn her sticker every day. She was pretty pround of her award, and I am proud of her too. Great job, Lily! Only 8 more months to go!

Lily

I have been trying to do a "photo shoot" with each of the kids every Fall. It is much less stressful than taking them somewhere and I usually get at least a couple good shots. Today was Lily's turn. Last year, we went to the Library park, but this year I thought it would be fun to take pictures around the property. Maybe someday, I will even have a nice fancy camera to take pictures with.
