"You Drive Me Nuts!"

The girls were playing in their room earlier and Lily was trying to tell Lucy what to do. Lucy was not cooperating very well and pretty soon, I heard Lily tell her, "Lucy, you drive me nuts!" Hmmm...I wonder where she has heard that one before.

Sunshine and Ice Cream

It was such a nice day today. Since Micah was on the way to the coast with Ma & Pa and Isaiah had the day off, we ended up taking the girls to lunch and out to ice cream. The Health Food store here has a really good soft serve ice cream that Lily can have because it is dairy-free (I guess it's really called a sorbet), and they have the cutest little kid cones. The girls each got one and Lucy even gave me a few licks of hers. Thanks, Luce!

Little Miss Hollywood

Lily got this hat for Christmas from Ma and as soon as she opened it, she put it on, struck a little pose, and said, "I am sooo Hollywood!" Everybody had a good laugh. It is now known as her "Hollywood hat". As you can see, she loves anything glittery or sparkly. I just love my little Hollywood girl.

Happy Valentines Day!

Valentine's Day is never the same once you have kids. Instead of planning a romantic evening or anticipating flowers or diamonds(hint hint, Isaiah), I find myself baking dozens of cookies and cupcakes for the kids' classes, helping them make their valentines, making matching shirts and hair pretties, and helping with their school Valentines parties. Of course I wouldn't have it any other way and Isaiah and I did manage to sneak away Sunday night for a dinner out while one of our favorite high school girls came over to watch the kids.
I ended up making the girls Valentines shirts to wear with their red tutus that they got to wear with their Rudolph shirts Mel and I made for Christmas. I figured they might as well get some use out of those skirts. They wore them to church on Sunday and everyone said they looked like little walking Valentines. They were pretty cute :) Micah was cute too, but of course I couldn't get him to wear anything remotely Valentiney.


Lily had her Valentines Day party at school on Monday and I got to help out. It was so much fun. I just love Kindergarten.

When Micah got home from school, I had a scavenger hunt planned for them to find their Valentine gifts. I hid little paper hearts all over the house with clues on them. Mostly, Micah figured out the clues and the girls just followed along, but it was still fun.


They ended up finding their gifts on our bed. Micah got some new Bakugan toys and the girls both got Zoobles.

Oh, and Isaiah had board meeting at church on Valentines night, but he came home for a little while before dinner and brought both the girls roses. It was so sweet. Lucy was so proud of hers, she just wanted to hold it and carry it around. I finally convinced her that it needed to stay in the water.

Our New Family Room/Playroom/Man Cave

I am so excited to have this room finished! Isaiah desperately wanted to turn it into a "Man Cave" and I really wanted a playroom for the kids where we could all hang out. It took a lot of compromising and planning, but I love how it turned out. Isaiah did a great job on the built-in shelves, which now house almost all of the kids toys. I cannot stand clutter, so I love that everything has a place now. Here is the finished product.

Get Well Soon

The girls and I were so sick last week. When Micah came home from school one day, I found this in his backpack. He had doodled a little get well card on the back of his Spelling Test. On the bottom of the front of the page was a note to look on the back. He had drawn picture of the whole family, with get well arrows pointing to Lily, Lucy, and me. Most of the time, he acts so tough, it is nice to know that he has a soft side, too. Plus, I think he felt a little bad for sharing his germs with us :)

And the best thing was, he got 100% on the Spelling Test!

Playroom Remodel

Here's what my handy dandy husband has been working on the last couple of weeks - built in shelves for our playroom! Isn't he amazing? (That big open space in the middle is for his new 55" TV). I am so excited for these to be finished so I can paint in there and get all the toys organized :)
