Baseball "Equipment"

Micah's baseball coach this year insisted that the boys all wear cups during the games. Micah doesn't like wearing his, so as soon as we get home he takes it off. After yesterday's game, we decided to go out to lunch. A few minutes after we sit down to eat, Micah sticks his hands down his pants, pulls out his cup, hands it to me, and says, "Here, Mom". Thanks for the embarrassing moment, Micah. The worst thing is, he ended up forgetting it at the restaurant. Those things are not cheap, so of course I made Isaiah go back and ask for it. They had already cleaned off our table and everything but had saved it for us. Luckily, it was a Chinese restaurant and none of the ladies there knew what it was. Isaiah said they kept asking him what it was and he just told him it was "baseball equipment".

Nothing to Wear

I was in my room getting ready for the Mother's Day Luncheon at church when Lily came in and sighed, "Mommy, I have absolutely nothing to wear!" Oh boy, I am really not looking forward to the teenage years.

Lily's Kindergarten Program

Lily had her Kindergarten Program last Thursday night. It seems like just yesterday, we were going to Micah's Kindergarten Program. Where did the time go? Anyway, the program was really cute. Lily was in the front row and as soon as the curtains opened, she was smiling and waving to the crowd. Lily didn't sing much of the words, but at certain times, she would belt them out. She also was pretty into some of the motions and was cracking us up. So different from her brother who usually acts way too cool for these kinds of things.



She gave a stunning performance on the egg shakers.

Baseball Season Strikes Again

Baseball season is in full swing and Micah is on fire! He has been doing great this year, hitting almost every pitch and even caught a few pop flies in the last couple of games. Now, if I could just get him to tuck in his shirt...of course, it doesn't help that it is 3 sizes too big. I guess that's what I get for sending him to practice with Isaiah on the day they handed out shirts :)

Happy Easter!

I am way behind on this, but we had lots of Easter fun this year. Grandma "Ma" got the girls these cute Easter shirts, so I decided to take them to the mall to see the Easter Bunny in them. Well, Lucy would have none of that and started screaming as soon as he came into sight. I think she was thinking the Easter Bunny would be a cute little furry bunny, not some gigantic rabbit with a tacky looking vest on. That plan backfired, so we came home and took our own picture.

This is after I told them to smile and Lily told me "I never smile, I'm just too serious."

And this is after I told them an amazingly funny joke.

On Saturday, we colored Easter eggs. The kids all love to dye eggs and get really creative with them. This year was fun because it was the first time Lucy really got into it.






Easter Sunday!

Ok, I admit I may have gone a little overboard on the Easter baskets this year. I was just planning on getting them each a few little things to go in their baskets, but kept finding these amazing deals that I couldn't pass up, so the baskets just kept getting added to.

After church, we headed over to Ma and Pa's house for dinner and an Easter egg hunt and got to spend some time with family and friends.

What a happy family! I keep telling Isaiah I need one of those photo editing softwares where you can cut and paste the best picture of each family member into one photo. For now, this is the best I could come up with.

"Her Name is Mommy!"

I was teaching in the 2's and 3's class at church today and one of the other teachers called me "Miss Vanessa". Lucy looked over and said, "No, that's my mommy! Her name is Mommy!" The other teacher laughed and told her, "Well, her name is Vanessa too and some people call her Miss Vanessa." Lucy was very adamant and just kept saying, "No! Her name is Mommy!" From then on, any time someone referred to her mommy as "Miss Vanessa", she had to correct them, "No! Her name is Mommy!" Maybe someday I will go by my real name again, but for now, just call me Mommy.

Kid Words of Wisdom

Micah-"If we went to Africa, it would probably take us three days to get there."
Mommy-"Probably not that long since we would have to take a plane."
Micah-"Or, we could take the subway."
Mommy-"There is no subway to Africa."
Micah-"Yes there is. It goes under the ocean all the way to Africa."
Mommy-"I don't think so. Where did you learn that"
Micah-"From the missionaries at church, and they know cuz they have been there."
