As an 8-year-old, Micah:
-Is very serious(he has been since he was a baby). He especially takes rules seriously and is very particular about making sure others are following the rules. However, this does not mean that he is afraid to break the rules himself.
-He LOVES sports, any kind of sports, but especially baseball and soccer.
-He still lets me hug him when I drop him off at school or meet him for lunch, even in front of his friends. I think a kiss would be crossing the line, though.
-He has also still been known to snuggle with mom on the couch during a movie or story time.
-He is very sensitive and gets his feelings hurt easily, but doesn't like to show it, so he will either run and hide or shut down completely.
-He is a great big brother. Although, he also loves to torment his sisters, he can be very sweet with them. He helps Lily get on the bus in the mornings and walks her to her class when they get to school. He has really taken her under his wing this year, since she has started Kindergarten. He definitely has a soft spot for Lucy, too. In fact, if she gets in trouble or doesn't get what she wants from me or Isaiah, she will run to Micah for comfort.
Happy 8th Birthday, Micah! We love you!
This year, Micah wanted to have a Pokemon party. He always wants to have his birthday parties at home which is great, but means more work(and stress) for me. I decided to alleviate some of the stress by renting a bounce house, which was pretty fun. I made folders for each of the kids with some Pokemon coloring sheets and activities, so as they arrived, they could work on their folders while we waited for the rest of the kids. We also played some games, where they had a chance to win Pokemon cards(many thanks to my wonderful Pokemon card supplier, Sarah, and her awesome brothers).
The pinata was a giant pokeball made from a punching balloon and paper mache.

Fun times!
And here is the gang in front of the Pokemon Bounce House!
On Micah's actual birthday, he wanted to go to Red Robin for dinner. He finally got the Nintendo DS he has been wanting, along with some games, so he was a pretty happy camper. I'm not sure who has been having more fun with it, Micah or Isaiah :) Happy Birthday, Micah!
